Our mission :: THE GARRETT HOUGHTON GOOD FOUNDATION was created to raise money for those who have been impacted by medical tragedies or other life-altering events. Our Garrett hoped to give back to those in need because of what was done for him. Thank you for visiting our page.
How does the Garrett Houghton GOOD Foundation work?
There are no applications to fill out to be a recipient of our gifts, we want stories to come to us organically. We know we cannot give to everyone, but we hope to do our best to fulfill our mission. Through this website we will feature our events and provide a private space where people can submit stories to us for our consideration.
Garrett’s immediate family members are the executive board of directors/trustees. Their responsibilities include planning and running fundraising events in our community and beyond. Their hope is that they are GOOD stewards of the donations and can give gifts with integrity and love.
There is an anonymous group of 12-14 couples/individuals throughout the state who have agreed to serve as our decision board. They will receive from the executive committee numerous stories of individuals and or families in need who fit our mission. They will be asked to respond by voting for the recipient(s) anonymously. We know who they are, but we do not know how they vote. The executive board will then fulfill the wishes of our anonymous board. These people were chosen carefully. They knew who Garrett was and his integrity and wishes. They understand our mission fully.
You, our faithful donators of money, tangible items, time, and talents, are the true heart and “owners” of this foundation. You breathe life into what we do and keep us moving forward. We set out to do this knowing that we will likely have successful and unsuccessful fundraising endeavors. We will always put our best foot forward for you. We know we will not be perfect, but that will always be our goal.
